CONDA has published a brochure about Candida Chromogenic Agar (1382), a marketing tool you can use to inform your customers. Like we said in a previous edition of this newsletter, with the presence of chromogenic substrates in Candida Chromogenic Agar the colonies of C.albicans, C.tropicalis and C.Krusei produce different colors, thus allowing the direct detection of these yeast species on the same plate. Serious infections due to Candida spp. are becoming increasingly common. Rapid identification of the Candida spp. causing infection is essential for clinics in order to issue the correct treatment reducing mortality and hospitalization. Inform your clients now! |
