Do you know that campylobacteriosis is the most notified infectious disease by public health authorities, even more than salmonellosis and listeriosis?

Due to this situation, European authorities have established this microorganism as a new hygiene criteria in all national regulations.  This fact also implied a new update of reference method ISO 10272 for detection and enumeration of Campylobacter spp.

In spite of these steps, nowadays the number of test for this bacteria has not been increased in microbiological laboratories. The absence of national control and prevention plans, manufacturers’ lack of information or the difficult implementation of the analytical method could be some of the reasons the volume of tests are not what should be expected.
